Welcome to Presence / a live, in-person event seeking God’s presence together.

After months of lockdown in the UK, we’ve missed meeting together in the same space and so we hope this event is a safe and exciting step towards physical gatherings. Our Virtual Sunday Services will continue online on Sunday mornings for the time being and Presence is an additional event.

Things will be a little different to how you might remember and all the measures put in place reflect the latest advice from government for gatherings of this scale. Even still, we want this to be a time of creativity and encouragement, seeking God and His presence together.

We are taking extra care in our setting, as many members of Lighthouse come from various cultural backgrounds more vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. Please click here for information from the NHS about this. Please read our full risk assessment for our building and church life.

Space is limited for this event due to social distancing measures and you will be required to register in advance to help us manage this.

If you have further questions not answered below, please get in touch: [email protected]

You will only be able to attend this event by registering your place in advance. There is limited space and seating due to social distancing regulations and the tickets will be given on a first come first served basis.

The event starts at 4.00pm but we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand as we will need to stagger entry times. You will need to queue in a socially distanced fashion outside until the welcome team call you in.

After checking your ticket on the register, you will be temperature checked (via a contact free thermometer) and provided hand sanitiser before entering the building. The welcome team will be wearing visors and gloves to minimise the risk of transmission.

At the end, the service leader will invite each row to leave one-by-one via the fire exit to the left of the stage. This will lead you between our two buildings and out to the road via the garden.

Social distancing will be in operation at this event, which means no handshakes, hugging or physical contact. Seats will be set 2 metres apart. There will be arrows on the floor to indicate any walking through the building.

We strongly advise that anyone attending this event wears a face covering. We will have some spare if you forget yours. For more information on government guidelines around face coverings please click here.

There will be no refreshments available so please make sure to bring a water bottle and take it home with you after the service. Please do not bring any food to this event for hygiene reasons. All chairs, toilets and surfaces will be wiped down before and after the event.

To prevent transmission we will not be able to have normal congregational singing or out-loud prayer from the floor. Instead you will be encouraged to worship in the quietness of your heart as we seek God’s presence together.

We will have one person leading the songs and prayers from the stage, behind a protective shield as well as using pre-recorded material on the screens. We are aiming to make this time as creative and engaging as possible.

This event is designed for over 16’s but children are welcome to attend as long as they are able to stay seated with their parents throughout. There will be no kids/youth programme provided. Children under the age of 11 are not required to wear a face covering.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) then you must not attend this event. Please go to NHS.uk for the latest advice or click here.

If you are especially vulnerable with an underlying health condition, over the age of 70 or have been shielding, we would encourage you to stay home for this event. As much as we want you to join us, we do not want to take any unnecessary risks. Please click here to see those who may be at risk.

By registering for Presence you agree to us sharing your details with NHS Test and Trace in the event of on outbreak.
