The Story
In the early 80’s a few families began meeting together, sharing the light and love they had found in Jesus with others. They worked together to connect and reach others from a similar background under a charity known as Southampton Asian Christian Outreach (SACO). Reaching especially those from South Asian background with all kinds of projects ranging from a local charity shop, youth clubs, BBQ’s and door visits, this small group grew into a small church (originally known as Hampshire Asian Christian Fellowship) until in 2006 the purchase of ‘Lighthouse’ when we re-branded as Southampton Lighthouse International Church (SLIC).
The church is full of people from all over the world, still with a special focus on serving and connecting with those from the South Asian context, but open to all. We meet every Sunday at 4.00pm at Lighthouse for our Main Service and throughout the week in small groups too. To see all that’s coming up, take a look at the calendar.
