MONDAY 13TH – FRIDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Welcome to Encounter Week / make space to meet with God

Every January, May and September we set aside a week to seek God, hear His voice and be filled with His Spirit. We have nights of worship and intercession, a non-stop prayer room and an opportunity to receive prayer. We will pray for ourselves, each other, our community and the world.

MONDAY – FRIDAY | 7.15PM | MAIN CHURCH

Every night this week we are gathering together at the church building to worship and pray together. We’ll make space to sing together, wait on God, ask for breakthrough, vision and deeper revelation. These are precious moments that we want to encourage everyone in the church family to make a priority.

Please arrive from 7.15pm each night and there is no need to book in advance.

THE PRAYER ROOM | MINOR HALL (BRINTON’S RD)

Our non-stop Prayer Room starts Monday 13th September at 10am and runs through until our Friday evening Encounter Night. That’s 107 hours of prayer! It will be hosted on site at our minor hall, where the room will be creatively laid out with stations to engage all your senses as you seek God. By booking a slot, you commit to turning up in person (this is not a virtual room!) at the time you’ve booked to take on the chain of prayer from the person before you and staying to hand it over to the person after you. Slots are 1 hour.

EVENT GUIDELINES AND PROCESS

Please read our full risk assessment for our building and church life. If you have further questions not answered below, please get in touch: [email protected]

TICKETS

You do not need to register in advance for Encounter Week but there is limited space and seating due to social distancing regulations. Seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, so we suggest arriving early to avoid disappointment.

QUEUING & ARRIVAL

You will need to queue in a socially distanced fashion outside until the stewards call you in. You will be temperature checked (via a contact free thermometer) and provided hand sanitiser before entering the building.

EXIT

At the end, the hosts will give instructions on how to exit the building. Please remember that groups should not socialise inside or outside the grounds in numbers larger than 6 people.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Social distancing will be in operation at these events which means no handshakes, hugging or physical contact. Small circles of chairs will be organised around the room as we make space to pray. The Rule of 6 is also now in place which means keeping to group sizes less than 6.

MASKS

Masks or face coverings are mandatory at these events. We will have some spare if you forget yours. Children under the age of 11 do not need to wear a mask. For more information on government guidelines around face coverings please click here.

REFRESHMENTS & HYGIENE

There will be no refreshments available so please make sure to bring a water bottle and take it home with you after the service. Please do not bring any food to this event for hygiene reasons. All chairs, toilets and surfaces will be wiped down before and after the event.

WORSHIP, SINGING & PRAYER

To prevent transmission we will not be able to have normal congregational singing. Instead you will be encouraged to worship in the quietness of your heart as we seek God’s presence together. You will be placed in socially distanced circles of 6 and encouraged to pray together.

We will have one person leading the songs from stage, behind a protective shield as well as using pre-recorded material on the screens. We are aiming to make this time as creative and engaging as possible.

CHILDREN & FAMILIES

All ages are welcome to join us for Encounter Week but we are not able to provide and kids groups for them.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

If you are experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new continuous cough or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) then you must not attend this event. Please go to NHS.uk for the latest advice or click here.

VULNERABLE & SHIELDING

If you are especially vulnerable with an underlying health condition, over the age of 70 or have been shielding, we would encourage you to stay home for these services. Please click here to see those who may be at risk.

ONLINE STREAMING

Encounter Week will not be live-streamed, so if you are hoping to take part, please come and join us on site at the building.
